Autumn.

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around lately. It's been hectic. I have my best friend's wedding in a week, which no one seems to be ready for. I have been making my daughter's Halloween costume, which is not finished because I ran out of fabric. Then Hurricane Sandy just hit. And one more thing...

AUTUMN PASQUALE

For those of you who don't know this name, I'll enlighten you.

This is Autumn. She lived in my tiny little town. A little over a week ago, she went missing. The whole town came together to find her. When they found her 3 days later, in a recycle bin, we all wanted justice. The same day they arrested two teenagers who lived TWO BLOCKS from my house. They killed her for her $200 BMX bike. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice bike, but she was a nicer girl.

The funeral was this Saturday. Today is her 13th birthday. I talked to one of her relatives yesterday, and I understood how he felt. My cousin, my best friend, was brutally murdered when I was 17 years old. She was days away from turning 22. She never had the chance to get married, or have a child. Now, neither will Autumn.

This has rocked my little town. Everyone stood outside to say goodbye to her. But, we are also scared. Nothing has ever happened like this. Not even close. I have a 7 year old daughter, and now I'm afraid to even let her talk to people. Autumn knew her murderers. She trusted them. So, our mindset is now, who can we really trust?

That is what has been running through my mind lately. And I seriously hope we take a good look at how our lives are. We try to mind our own business. We try to raise our kids without being strict, or ever punishing them. When I was growing up, I had a whole neighborhood raising me. I was well behaved because I'd get hit, or my neighbors would scream at me. Maybe if we were more like that, Autumn would still be alive. We should be a COMMUNITY. We should help each other, and love each other. Stop being so private, and start caring more. Maybe we can change the world.... or maybe we can just save a life.

Coaching

I know I have posted this before. But, every now and again I will remind everyone.

Obviously, the main focus of this blog is fitness. I created it to not only share my journey, but to help others on their way. I love to help people, physically and mentally. The best way for me to do that is through Beachbody coaching. Once people sign up, I get to help them as much or as little as they want. I can provide support, listen to problems, or help them choose workouts that are best for them.

A lot of people are nervous about signing up. Most of my clients "have no money". That's fine. I'm not asking for it. Signing up is FREE. I'm not going to push you to buy anything. I have plenty of workouts that require nothing. If you are already doing a program or working at the gym, that's great. I will never tell you not to. I'm here to tell you how great you are doing, and how you can get better results.

If you are interested (and honestly I think everyone in the world should sign up, it's awesome!), go to the FREE COACHING tab at the top of the page, sign up using my name (Patricia DeHart) and I will email you within a day. Can't wait to get to know you!!!

Day 19

Day 19: Things you think about while exercising

Mainly I think about my back. The workouts I do always tell you that your back should be flat, or it needs to stay on the floor.... my back does not do this. My back is a bent spirally mess. So I am very self conscious of what my back is doing.

I also think about after workout stuff. I know I should focus on what I'm doing, however, this is the way I function. I have ADHD and can't just do one thing. I will explode. So while I am working out and doing all the moves CORRECTLY, I think about my shower, work, my daughter, movies we need to watch, etc.

Day 18

Day 18: moves you have mastered

I can waist hoop really good?

Seriously, I suck at everything. I have yet to master even one move because I am a colossal mess. I have a twisted spine, a short leg, a cyst on my wrist. All of those plus my accident proneness makes for me collapsing almost every move.

But I TRY.

All you can do is push as hard as you can.

Day 17

Day 17: Exercises you just can't get right

-Sumo burpees. Something about going from a sumo squat to plank throws my balance off. I fall every time.

-Anything with a "flat back". I have scoliosis. My back will never be flat. Even lifting my hips, my back is in a permanent curve, which makes it nearly impossible to target the correct muscles.

Update

Halloween is coming up fast!!! So excited, but stressed too. I have already picked out my costume, and gotten the materials for Emily's. She's going to be a woodland fairy, sans wings. Super cute. She has a green body suit, and if all goes well, she will have a multicolored tutu to match. Problem is, I have literally no time. We are shorthanded at work so I have been working extra, and weird shifts. Now, we hire a new person, and one of my managers quits. Really?!

Also, stay on the lookout for new videos on my channel. I plan on starting to post some workout videos, as well as of me talking about things (bleh) If that link doesn't work, search for either FitTrish or norules08028.

Day 16

Day 16: Fantasy exercise partner

I would probably enjoy working out with Chalene Johnson.... but even more so, her sister, Jenelle. In both TurboFire and CE, she is my inspiration. She manages to push through each workout, usually with a smile on her face. And her body is amazing. Honestly the only picture I found of the two sisters together doesn't do either justice.

Fluffy dress.

Yay! My bridesmaid dress came today! It really is lovely... however...

I have always had long hair. I went nuts and cut it all off, and until now I was okay. This dress would look great with my long hair. I normally don't show this much cleavage, so the amount of skin showing is astonishing to me. My self confidence has run away....

It's not just the hair. I'm a pretty curvy girl, who usually covers it up. This dress shows me off, which is great. I'm terrified of having a malfunction, though. Yes it's all in my head, and I can do a few minor alterations to ensure nothing shows. Still, the thought's there...

Thank you for reading my crazy rant about nothing. Good night :)

Day 15

Day 15: Fantasy Exercise Venue

I would love to exercise on a mountain. I used to wake up every morning by television. And it would always be this woman doing yoga on a mountain. She seemed so at peace. I think that would be totally cool.

Day 14

Day 14: favorite place to exercise

Outside. Hands down, my favorite place to exercise. Usually, I can only do hula hooping outside though.... So next best is:

In front of the tv. I have a plethora of workout dvds (weight lifting, pilates, cardio, ballet, etc.) And I feel way more comfortable working out in my own living room then in a gym. I have NEVER joined a gym, because I am likely to get discouraged watching everyone else. I am at my best alone or with one of my friends, ONLY.

Random snippet of the day:

TOMALE PIE IS THE BEST FOOD EVER!!!! My dad finally fixed the oven, so as a treat tonight he made my favorite dish. What it is: biscuits in a pie tin/casserole dish, pressed thin along the bottom and sides, then filled with taco seasoned meat, corn, tomatoes, olives, and other tasties. I would share a picture, but I ate it all!! Fatty me :)

Day 13... not

So day 13 is: Favorite recovery method. I wish I could say "Oh I love..." But I can't. I don't do recovery methods. I literally go from workout to the next thing, usually a shower. So, instead,  I'm going to show you my new workout plan!!!

Yeah it's backwards. But it's Chalean Extreme!!! This is my soulmate workout. I thought I loved TurboFire, and I do. But it's not on the same level for me. I have never lifted weights in my life. I have never lifted weights PROPERLY in my life. Just because you pick up a weight and move it does not mean you are doing it right. You can't get the same effects if you are foisting a weight into the air. This program shows you proper technique, as well as teaching you ways to get maximum benefits. I feel so much stronger after only one week. And, even sick as I am today, I managed to do it.

If you need help finding your soulmate workout, don't hesitate to comment, or have me as a coach in the tab above!

Day 12

Day 12: Favorite Things To Do After Exercise

I love showering after working out. It makes me feel more relaxed, since my muscles are always sore afterwards. But it's also a necessity. So on to better things :)

I love reading after working out. Usually I will pick something helpful. I save my fiction books for another time. I love doing the daily "pushes" (Push by Chalene Johnson) because it helps me cement that I am working towards a better life. I also do research on whatever interests me, so that I am working out my mind as well as my body.

Day 11

Day11: Exercises I Hate

I hate....

1. Running

I can't run. I'm not saying I'm lazy, or that it hurts my legs. I would love to run if I could. But I will literally fall down due to lack of breath. I have "sports related asthma". Running sets it off. Or anything close to running. It's not very fun.

2. Sumo Burpees

Who doesn't hate these?! Burpees on their own are tough. I don't see the necessity of widening your legs, then jumping into plank position and back again. I understand it's to work more muscles.... but, really??

3. Crunches

They suck. They don't do much. I know so many people who have told me to do them to lose my belly. Guess what? Bazillions of crunches later, no flat tummy. So bite me. I have found other awesome exercises that work way better.

A post for a few days :)

So, since I haven't been on in a while, I obviously did not keep up with my challenge. So I'm going to put 3 days worth into this post, to catch up a tiny bit.

Day 8: Favorite Exercise Types

I constantly get bored.... So I have a lot of different workout plans. I also go through phases of what is my favorite. Two months ago, I was in love with TurboFire. Then I got bored :( Before that, it was ballet, pilates, yoga. Right now, I love weight training. I love feeling stronger. With my job (lifting batteries) strength is very important. So, I'm very excited for Chalean Extreme! I have already tried one of the classes (I get the full set today). My body hurt for days afterwards, in a good way. I love the burn.

Day 9: Favorite Exercises

Hmmm. Tricky one. I like... squats. I do them constantly. It's so easy to do them anywhere, and you could add weight for your upper body. Doing them correctly is key. Your knees cannot go past your toes. Therefore, your butt has to push back. So you work your whole lower body, including your core!

Day 10: Most Effective Exercises For You

Obviously, squats since I do them everywhere. Lifting (even at work, I lift the gallons of oil lol). I have a hard time with lunges, but I love then since they challenge me. And pushups. Pushups are the bane of my existence. But I like them because they make me feel STRONG.
